Learning how to be single

As of about two weeks ago, Daniel and I are no longer “together”.  The break-up was unexpected, although in hindsight it shouldn’t have been.  The last few months have been really stressful and we hadn’t been getting along as well as we used to (although I thought things were slowly getting better…).   We’re still roommates and friends.  I think we actually get along better now.

Due to having very strict parents, I never went on a date (except for prom with a friend) until college. I met Daniel not too long after and we were together for almost exactly two years.  The idea of dating is very much a novelty.  I’ve made contact with a couple of people on OKCupid, a site I haven’t been active on (except to take the odd personality quiz) in a couple of years.  I’m mainly looking for someone to have fun with.  Nothing too serious right now.

Any advice for someone who knows nearly nothing about dating and such?
