Claws come out

SumRa cat has placed himself on my shoulders. This makes typing and other activities extremely awkward. At least he was successful this time. He tried to jump up earlier and didn’t quite make it. Claws in the back hurt. -.-

I’m no longer a Lakeshore employee. Firstly because I missed the mandatory meeting that I mentioned in a recent entry. Secondly because there was a schedule conflict Thursday between them and the big blue retailer. I called in Tuesday and apparently there was miscommunication because I ended the call under the impression that somebody was going to take the shift but apparently they didn’t come in. Get there Friday for the shift and end up getting into a heated discussion with the store manager about those two issues, but mainly about the missed meeting. Apparently because some of the others missed their other job, church, and their kid’s birthday party for this meeting, it was simply unacceptable that I didn’t (1) Completely change the UTA’s Sunday schedule or (2) Bike fifty-four blocks while sick. I was informed that I had been taken off the schedule, and was given my final check. I stopped to talk to a couple of my favorite co-workers for a bit on the way out, but left when I saw the manager coming to the counter. I made sure to mention while she was in earshot that I had another job just up the road (that has better pay, more hours, and benefits!). I tend to cry when I’m angry and yesterday was no exception. I managed to hold it together until I got to the bus stop though….

Claws in the back of the head and shoulders also hurt….a lot….

Thursday night I was at the big blue retailer, still with a shadow to help me with any questions I had about running the register. While ringing this woman up, she said that one of the items cost less than it rang up. If the difference is under a certain amount, we can just give it to them for that price, but if not we have to price check. My shadow offered to go run and check the price (it was just a few aisles away) instead of calling the CSM. The customer gets pissed and says don’t bother, I’m in a hurry, just do it at the price it rang up as. Then she starts saying that this is why she hates Wal-mart because we are always trying to rip her off and a bunch of other things that I don’t want to repeat. Get everything rung up and tell her the total, she throws the money at me. Give her the change back and she jerks it out of my hand and grabs the bags away from the other girl and storms out still ranting about how we’re out to get her. -.-

It was a bit upsetting. I’ve never dealt with anybody so rude and angry before. Even the drunk golfer assholes were never so mean….

Oh man, some of the worse things in the world have happened due to miscommunication. I’m sorry that you were let go. I’m surprised they didn’t give you a second chance. Most companies do don’t they?

I hate customers like that. I work in a convenience store and generally if the price ticket is wrong it’s only by a few pence and yet people still argue over 2p. I seriously don’t get it, if it was £1 or something then fair enough but not 2p!

Ugh, I’m so sorry that happened to you.
Some people just live off starting drama, no matter how nice you treat them. It’s like their crack. They can’t live without it! I know because I have family members that are the same way sometimes.
Try not to let it bother you. There’s always some asshole out there ready to piss on someone’s parade. Take care, hun.

Psh… bad kitty :( Hopefully Sumra Cat goes to have a cat nap sometimes soon. ROFL.
